The Mom's Choice Awards® Names Aurora of the Northern Lights By Holly Hardin Among Best In Family-Friendly Products

The Mom's Choice Awards® has named Aurora of the Northern Lights By Holly Hardin as a Silver Award winner in the holiday picture book category

Touted by some as a new holiday classic, Hardin's Aurora of the Northern Lights combines a story of adventure, sprites and magical charms with a subtle message of tolerance. The book follows the journey of Aurora, who is left alone and friendless after losing her parents. But Aurora isn't the same as everybody else, and as she sets out alone, she finds it hard to find anyone who cares about her story¾even at Christmastime¾because of her differences.

The evaluation process uses a propriety methodology in which entries are scored on a number of elements including production quality, design, educational value, entertainment value, originality, appeal and cost.

To be considered for an award, each entrant submits five identical samples of a product. Entries are matched to judges in the MCA database. Judges perform a thorough analysis and submit a detailed assessment. Results are compiled and submitted to the MCA Executive Committee for final approval. The end result is a list of the best in family-friendly media, products and services that parents and educators can feel confident in using.
